EHS Specialist

The EHS Specialist will be responsible for implementing, tracking and monitoring the company environmental/ safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations in the Field and Manufacturing Plant.CORE TASKS:1. Implement and administer safety program at each job site for all employees. Assist site management team in developing and executing site-specific safety program and activities.2. Coordinate, conduct and implement safety orientation and training for manufacturing, field operations and sub-contractors.3. Document and track all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc,4. Conduct, implement and coordinate job site audits to ensure company and regulatory requirements are being met and report findings to the management team.5. Conduct or assist with major incident investigation and analysis.6. Conduct or assist with risk assessments7. Record, monitor and analyze safety, injury and hazard statistics;8. Coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements.9. Participate in and contribute to project planning and hazard analysis.10. Assist with the organization and implementation of project safety celebrations and recognition/reward programs.11. Provide support in both field and manufacturing safety excellence. 50% field work 50% manufacturing.12. Manage multiple contractor documents and pre-qualification requirements.13. Develop toolbox talks to field managers weekly.14. Report all field data to the EHS manager.15. Be open and available to travel when necessary16. Contribute to implement the Safety Culture inside the company17. Act as a Role Model Who we are looking forQUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION HOLDER:Expert Know How/Knowledge:- Ability to travel 50% of the time.- Technical knowledge preferred- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven experience building relationships- Thorough knowledge of environmental, safety, OSHA regulations and compliance;- Detail oriented; sufficient to manage multiple priorities and project/task.- Leading multiple contacts and managing safety data for multiple sites.- Effective public speaking and presentation skills- Proficiency with MS excel, word, power point.- Knowledge in best practices and behavioral based safety implementations.- Knowledge of Safety techniques for: accident investigation, risk assessment, JHA, etc.- Passion for Safety- Integrity and reliability- Ability to build partnerships (internal / external) and influence skillsLanguages:English. Knowledge of Spanish is desirable.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:- The ability to lift 25/50 pounds occasionally- The ability to respond quickly to sounds- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations- The ability to safely climb ladders- The ability to work in extreme temperatures- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctlyExpected (Educational) Qualifications:- Bachelor Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent- Certification in Health and Safety a plus (Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Professional (GSP), Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Master Certification in Environmental Health and Safety)- Train The Trainer certifications is a plus.- Minimum 3+ years experience in the Environmental Health and Safety professionWORK ENVIRONMENT:Manufacturing/Shop Employees- Warehouse/Manufacturing environment, working and walking around moving equipment and on concrete flooring- Limited time spent in an office enviro ment- Non-air conditioned and limited heated environment What we offerWe work together closely and respect each other, for over 200 years.
