Requirements Based at the Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) campus, the Director of Campus Life provides senior leadership within Student Affairs to advance a collaborative team culture; lead, assess, and improve Student Life initiatives; oversee proactive student support through the CARE Team; ensure consistent student conduct practices; and provide leadership in student crisis response and risk management. The role serves as a key steward of campus life, fostering a cohesive, inclusive and engaging campus culture that enhances the overall community experience for students, faculty and staff. Key Accountabilities: + Serve as a senior leader in Student Affairs, advising and collaborating closely with the Associate Dean for Student Affairs to build a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture. + Lead the vision, strategy, and execution and ongoing assessment of all Campus Life initiatives in alignment with institutional mission and Student Affairs priorities. + Serve as leader of the CARE (Campus Assessment, Response, and Education) Team, ensuring proactive and compassionate student support. + Partner with the Associate Dean for Student Affairs to ensure consistent practices in student conduct, education, and support. + Provide leadership in student-related crisis response and risk management planning. Key Activities: + Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, to provide updates, support decision-making and ensure Student Life strategy is aligned with Student Affairs priorities. + Manage all aspects of budget, operations, and strategic planning for Student Life. + Oversee campus-wide engagement initiatives, student activities and campus traditions. + Design and oversee annual calendars of student programs, engagement initiatives, and campus traditions. + Ensure all Campus Life initiatives are intentionally inclusive and foster a sense of belonging across diverse student populations. + Strategize and oversee the comprehensive co-curricular plan and innovate new initiatives to foster leadership, belonging, and holistic student development. + Develop and implement assessment methods for Student Life programs and services. + Collect and analyse program data (attendance, surveys, focus groups) to assess impact of Student Life programs, inform decision-making and continuous improvement. + Produce semester and annual reports highlighting key outcomes, student impact, and areas for improvement. + Benchmark Student Life programs against peer institutions and regional best practices. + Serve as a visible advocate for student needs to institutional leadership. + Maintain readiness for emergencies, including developing staff protocols and coordinating with campus security and risk management. + Represent Student Affairs and Campus Life on committees, working groups and at key institutional events and ceremonies. + Attend and actively engage in major student events, including evenings and weekends, to demonstrate presence and support. + Serve as a visible campus leader and ambassador for community engagement, inclusion and student wellbeing at institutional events and activities. + Partner with academic leadership, faculty and administrative units to enhance the overall campus experience and align co-curricular and community initiatives with institutional priorities. + Liaise with Education City partners and external stakeholders to maximize opportunities for students through joint programs and shared student initiatives. + Manage all scholarship letters and renewals. + Convene and lead weekly CARE Team meetings, ensuring timely follow-up and appropriate interventions. + Serve as primary contact to manage and resolve complex or high-risk student cases with cultural sensitivity, discretion and sound judgement, working with counselling, housing, and the Associate Dean for Student Affairs. + Maintain and update student crisis communication plans and response protocols for Student Life events and staff. + Provide on-call coverage for urgent student concerns in coordination with senior leadership. + Conduct after-action reviews for incidents and implement preventive measures. + Oversee and serve as the lead judicial officer for the student conduct process. + Meet regularly with student leaders, including Student Government and clubs, to understand needs and advocate for resources. + Communicate Student Life initiatives through newsletters, town halls, and campus presentations. + Manage and oversee the work of direct reports, including setting and reviewing performance objectives, identifying training and development needs, and assigning daily/monthly tasks. + Liaise with Human Resources to manage the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding of direct reports, as required. Knowledge and Skills: + Knowledge and awareness of appropriate programming for a diverse student population. + Strong management and leadership skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. + Familiarity with Powerpoint, Excel, Adobe, Zoom and Google Teams. + Excellent oral and written communication skills. + Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. + Understanding of FERPA and HIPAA rules. + Ability to develop appropriate policies and procedures and put them into practice. + Understanding the importance of meeting student needs. Qualifications: + Masteru2019s degree in education, business administration or a related field. Experience: + 10+ years of relevant work experience, including 5+ years of experience in Student Affairs. + 5+ years of experience working with budgets. + 4+ years of supervisory experience.
