Requirements REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY: Three (3) years of experience at the level of Clinical Nursing Directordirecting the nursing staff of a large hospital or a large correctional institution(s) delivering complex medical services or an equivalent assignment. A Master's degree in Nursing or Administration will be accepted for one (1) year of the required experience in directing nursing staff. LICENSE REQUIREMENT INFORMATION: + A current, active licenseto practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing. + A current Basic Life Support (BLS)for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program certification issued by the American Heart Association. PHYSICAL CLASS: Physical Class II u2013 Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS INFORMATION: For this examination, Clinical Nursing Director is defined as: administering multiple major programs or organizational areas with full responsibility for planning, organizing, staffing, budgeting, directing, and controlling the accomplishment of both short and long-term nursing service objectives. A large hospital is defined asa hospital of 300 or more licensed beds. A large correctional institution(s) is defined asan institution/facility that has an inpatient treatment center of 150 or more licensed beds. Complex medical services include, but are not limited to, emergency, medical, surgical, critical, perioperative, perinatal, psychiatric and outpatient services. An equivalent assignment may include, but is not limited to, a healthcare network, or outpatient/ambulatory care centers, or comprehensive health centers offering multiple ambulatory care services.
