FTE: 0.900000 Standard Hours: 36.00 Shift: Shift 1 ShiftDetails: 0630-1930 Holidays: Rotation Weekends: Every other Job Summary:The Rehabilitation Care Technician (RCT), under the direction andsupervision of a Registered Nurse, provides delegated, age appropriatecare, in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manger in theRehabilitation Hospital. The RCT assists patients with the tasks outlinein their clinical competency assessment related to basic nursing skills,personal care skills, basic restorative services, and necessaryrehabilitation skills. The RCT practices and performs what was taughtduring their CNA training and certification or learned during basicnursing courses at an accredited school for professional nurses. The RCTmay be asked to provide continuous safety observation. This job reportsto the Assistant Nurse Manager of the Rehabilitation Hospital and theRNs on duty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCEDESCRIPTION: Previous CNA experience is preferred. EDUCATIONDESCRIPTION: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. TRAININGDESCRIPTION: Completion of the Critical Care Technician Rehabilitationcourse within six months SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Demonstrate strongverbal, nonverbal and written communication techniques. Must demonstrateeffective listening skills. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Current state ofWisconsin Certified Nursing Assistant Certification is required,otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able toprovide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurseindicating successful completion of the basic nursing course whichencompasses all criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrativecode and a minimum experience of one acute care medical/surgicalclinical rotation. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Supportfor the Healthcare provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent isrequired within 90 days of hire.
