As a Manager in our Engagement Consultation (EC) team, you'll operate at the intersection of regulatory compliance and client service delivery - advising Deloitte engagement teams on auditor independence requirements and their impacts on the professional services environment. In this highly consultative role, you'll work closely with Deloitte engagement teams and help them navigate independence considerations so they can deliver services confidently while complying with the applicable independence regulations. In addition, you'll collaborate with Deloitte engagement teams across our business functions (e.g., Consulting Services, Tax, Audit & Assurance), offering the unique opportunity to broaden your horizons and build a deeper understanding of the firm's Multi-Disciplinary Model (MDM). If this sounds exciting, then our ICN Engagement Consultation team may be the right fit for you Recruiting for this role ends on 15th February, 2026 Work you'll do In this role, you need strong research and investigative skills, so you can apply professional judgement in analyzing and evaluating proposed client services and relationships against the relevant auditor independence requirements. You'll also strengthen your executive communication capabilities by regularly partnering with ICN and engagement leadership to frame questions/issues clearly, align on independence risks, and drive timely decisions. This will include: + Working closely with Partners, Principals, Managing Directors (PPMDs) and Senior Managers both within ICN and across Deloitte's service lines and business functions. You'll also interact with client service leadership (e.g., Lead Client Service Partners, Professional Practice Directors, and other client service teams) to understand their independence questions/concerns and provide guidance on a variety of engagement-related independence matters, such as: + Services to and relationships with clients, both within and outside the U.S. + Matters arising from client mergers and acquisitions (M&A) or from client initial public offerings (IPOs) + The impacts of affiliate relationships with audit clients, including the nuances of client structures and investments, including the investment company complex + Independence risk evaluations on newly developed solutions and Deloitte's latest technology-enabled capabilities, including GenAI and Agentic AI + Performing research and analysis, drafting conclusions and communications, and strategizing on next steps in coordination with senior team members. + Developing an enhanced understanding of the intricacies of AICPA, SEC and PCAOB independence rules and Deloitte US Firms Independence policies + Interpreting and implementing new and existing regulations relating to permissible non-attest services for the Deloitte US entities, and providing advice and guidance to client-facing teams + Participating in policy setting by performing research and drafting communications aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of current, new, or changing independence rules + Creating and revising training courses and materials to address rule changes and new interpretations of existing rules identified during consultations with regulators. + Working on special projects both independently and collaboratively with PPMDs and engagement teams, involving senior members for input as necessary The successful candidate will possess: + Deep experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including skills and abilities that enable direct interaction with senior leaders + Comfortable navigating nuances and complexities in sensitive or emerging areas, with the ability to learn quickly and apply new requirements
