Lead the Future of Infrastructure Delivery u2013 Now Hiring a Field Manager No work sponsorship is available for this role. Candidates MUST be able to work hybrid either from Boston, MA or New York, NY. Candidates MUST be available to travel during the week, about 10-12 weeks out of the year. About the Role PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Field Manager for a direct-hire opportunity supporting nationwide infrastructure transformation initiatives. This role is essential to the successful execution of data centre exits, real estate rationalisation programs, and telecom-focused projects. As the on-site lead, you will drive coordination, quality, and communication to ensure each project phase is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards. Salary: $125,000 annually Location: US (preferred) What Youu2019ll Do On-Site Leadership u2022 Lead day-to-day execution of data centre exit activities across multiple sites, including installation, commissioning, migration, decommissioning, and site clearance. u2022 Coordinate field engineers, subcontractors, and logistics partners to maintain project momentum. u2022 Validate deliverables, monitor timelines, and act as the primary customer contact during on-site operations. u2022 Coordinate with logistics teams for secure removal, transport, or disposal of equipment. u2022 Travel to sites as required to provide coaching, performance oversight, and hands-on support. Client Interaction & Stakeholder Management u2022 Serve as the central point of engagement for clients, maintaining strong relationships and providing consistent progress updates. u2022 Address concerns quickly and professionally to protect timelines and customer satisfaction. u2022 Align internal teams, subcontractors, and client stakeholders around project goals, scope, and deliverables. Quality Assurance u2022 Implement a comprehensive quality control program across all field work. u2022 Conduct inspections, identify non-conformance issues, lead root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions. u2022 Maintain detailed records of inspections, defect tracking, and resolution efforts. u2022 Champion continuous improvement around safety, quality, and operational efficiency. Team Mobilisation & Performance Management u2022 Participate in recruiting and onboarding new field team members for upcoming projects. u2022 Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to support team growth and accountability. u2022 Partner with the Project Lead on resource planning to ensure teams are staffed appropriately. u2022 Validate the technical output of field personnel across all project phases. Subcontractor Sourcing & Management u2022 Lead the full subcontractor lifecycle, including sourcing, pre-qualification, selection, and contracting. u2022 Execute a structured onboarding process to ensure full compliance with safety, documentation, and quality standards. u2022 Monitor subcontractor performance against SLAs and project requirements. u2022 Maintain compliance documentation, including contracts, insurance, and certifications. Reporting & Documentation u2022 Deliver timely KPI reporting to senior staff, including metrics on project completion, quality control, team productivity, and customer satisfaction. u2022 Ensure project milestones, timelines, and deliverables are achieved in line with agreed schedules with the Project Management Team. u2022 Maintain accurate records of field activities, inspections, and deliverables. Required Qualifications & Experience u2022 Proven experience managing field-based teams within data centre, telecommunication, or critical infrastructure projects. u2022 Strong project execution and timeline management skills. u2022 Knowledge of OSP, DWDM, SONET, and IP infrastructure. u2022 Understanding of best practices in installation and commissioning. u2022 Excellent leadership and people management capabilities. u2022 Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage directly with customers, subcontractors, or landlords on-site. u2022 Detail-oriented with the ability to validate technical deliverables. u2022 Knowledge of health & safety requirements and site compliance in data centre or telecommunication environments. u2022 Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills and ability to manipulate large datasets. Preferred Qualifications u2022 Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent certification. u2022 Experience supporting data centre migrations, exits, or large-scale infrastructure transitions. u2022 Prior hands-on field experience in telecom environments. u2022 Familiarity with commissioning, installation, decommissioning, and technical field processes.
