SCS is lookingfor a full-time environmental technician for our Green Bay, WI office.You will work with scientists and engineers to collect field data andmaintain sampling and remediation systems on various environmentalmonitoring, landfill, and remediation projects. Environmentaltechnicians work in the field most of their time but assist with officetasks such as report preparation occasionally. How you can make animpact Sampling and/or monitoring, which can include the following:soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, air, geosynthetics,landfill gas, and leachate. Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of pumpsand other equipment. Construction oversight of remediation and/orlandfill construction projects. Basic surveying for landfillconstruction projects Well installation oversight. Oversight of SCSand/or client subcontractors. Operate, calibrate, maintain, test,troubleshoot, order and organize field equipment. Perform repairs offield equipment and/or arrange for repair with vendor. Report fieldconditions and test results to supervisor and sometimes directly to theclient. Prepare and submit daily field logs reporting data collected,field observations, actions taken, and recommended actions to be taken.Package, create chains of custody and transfer to courier or shipsamples for laboratory analysis. Follow SOPs for project task. Be up todate with corporate and site-specific health & safety training. Beprepared for local and overnight travel. Travel can be up to 90% of thetime and schedules can change rapidly. Ability to read maps andconstruction-related drawings, to work outdoors in all weatherconditions, to take direction and communicate clearly, to workindependently and problem-solve.
