Job Title: Therapy rehabilitation (OT acute hospital) System: Acute Care Hospital / Health System Facility: Acute Care Hospital Setting Position Type: Contract / Travel / Full-Time (as applicable) Shift: Day Shift (e.g., 5x8 or 3x12) Hours per Week: 40 Pay Rate:$30 - $45/ per hour POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the Therapy & Rehabilitation team within an acute care hospital setting. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients regain functional independence following illness, injury, or surgery. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, experience working with medically complex patients, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams in a fast-paced hospital environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for acute care patients, including assessments of activities of daily living (ADLs), cognition, mobility, and functional status Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on restoring functional independence and promoting safe discharge planning Provide therapeutic interventions for patients with orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, and general medical conditions Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, energy conservation, and use of assistive equipment Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, and case management to support coordinated patient care Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) Recommend durable medical equipment (DME) and assist with discharge planning to home, inpatient rehab, or skilled nursing facilities Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines Job Title: Therapy rehabilitation (OT acute hospital) System: Acute Care Hospital / Health System Facility: Acute Care Hospital Setting Position Type: Contract / Travel / Full-Time (as applicable) Shift: Day Shift (e.g., 5x8 or 3x12) Hours per Week: 40 Pay Rate:$35 - $45/ per hour Education and Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice required NBCOT certification required Minimum 12 years of recent acute care or hospital-based OT experience preferred Experience working with medically complex and post-surgical patients preferred Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and patient education skills Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team Additional Details Setting: Acute Care Hospital Orientation: Provided prior to independent patient assignments EMR Experience: Preferred (Epic or similar systems) Vaccination Requirements: Per facility policy Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred but not required
