Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. In this hybrid role, you will work both remotely and on-site 1-2 days per week, contributing to a large and dynamic accounting department. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for long-term career growth after completing the initial contract period. Responsibilities: u2022 Provide support to both internal teams and external customers, ensuring a high level of service. u2022 Monitor and manage unapplied cash to maintain accurate financial records. u2022 Utilize basic Excel and Outlook functions to track and organize accounts receivable data. u2022 Handle collections and resolve outstanding payments with professionalism and efficiency. u2022 Collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced environment to meet team goals. u2022 Learn and adapt to the company's insurance accounting software with provided training. u2022 Contribute to a positive and outgoing team dynamic within a cubicle-based office setting. u2022 Assist in billing functions and ensure accurate cash handling procedures. u2022 Work closely with a large organization to manage accounts receivable processes effectively. u2022 Maintain a business casual dress code while adhering to company policies. Requirements u2022 Prior experience in accounts receivable or collections is preferred. u2022 High level of customer service skills and ability to handle inquiries professionally. u2022 Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. u2022 Basic knowledge of Excel and Outlook is required. u2022 Ability to learn new accounting software systems without prior experience. u2022 Experience working in a large organization is a plus. u2022 Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. u2022 No formal degree required; relevant experience is valued.
