Summary The candidate will spend time as attending on the Hematology/Oncology inpatient consult service; providing consultative support to all inpatient services and serve as oncology/hematology attending on call for the consult service. This position is eligible for ad-hoc telework. The candidate may serve as the primary physician for patients with active cancer or hematologic disease. Supervision of inpatient as well as outpatient chemotherapy and infusion procedures. Perform bone marrow aspirates and biopsies and participate in oncology conferences. Supervise hematology/oncology fellows from Kansas University Medical Center. The Kansas City Oncology Department has an active clinical trials program. Academic opportunities include: Serving as principal investigator of clinical trials through SWOG, the GU-NPOP program, and drug company sponsored clinical trials. Oversight of regulatory requirements and compliances with IRB regulation in human research. The position can include a major role in the clinical research, administrative, and educational programs of the Hematology/Oncology Section for interested candidates. Work Schedule: Part-Time, Monday-Friday, 24 hours a week. This position has the potential to be full time and may be discussed during interview or upon selection.
