JOB REQUIREMENTS: Fincantieri ACE Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Groupcompany, currently has an opportunity for a Fabricator II at the GreenBay, Wisconsin location. Fincantieri ACE Marine is a state-of-the-art,climate-controlled aluminum construction facility. Purposely designedfor assembly-line manufacturing of aluminum vessels, the facility usesinnovative modular construction techniques and component manufacturing.Efficiencies in production are achieved by allowing modules to bepre-outfitted to a very high degree while internal compartments arestill very accessible. Benefits: Fincantieri ACE Marine offers 4, 10hour shifts, no weekends, 3 weeks paid vacation, plus competitivemedical, dental and vision insurance, and more Position Summary: TheLevel II aluminum fabricator shall assemble (fit) major aluminumcomponents/parts and completely weld out assembly. Set-up of weldingequipment IAW approved procedures and preparation of parts in accordancewith cleanliness standards, specifications and standard workinstructions. Ability to fit and weld work to close tolerances, andunderstand distortion control of aluminum weldment. Carpentry or otherfabrication/construction experience is a plus. Four to five yearsrelated experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Analyzeengineering drawings and specifications to plan layout/assembly sequenceof major weldments. Determine required equipment and welding method,applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, welding techniques andstandard procedures/processes provided by the company. Lay out,position, and secure parts and assemblies according tospecifications/drawings using straight edge, combination square,calipers and ruler. Cut aluminum plate/shapes using powered saws andhand shears. Weld or tack aluminum parts together using spot welding gunor FCAW equipment. Weld components in flat, vertical or overheadpositions. Climb ladders or work on scaffolds to assemble components.Signal crane operator to move large work pieces. Dismantle aluminumassemblies or cuts scrap metal, using saws, routers or plasma-arcequipment. Position and secure parts using hoist, crane, wire andbanding machine, or hand tools. Fuse parts together, seals tensionpoints and adds metal to build up parts. Remove rough spots from workpiece using portable sander, hand file or scraper. Heat, form and dressmetal parts using hand tools, torch or arc welding equipment. Developtemplates and other work aids to hold and align parts. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required,or any equivalent combination of skills and experience. A WeldCertificate from a technical school or four years of rel ted weldingexperience and/or training is preferred. A general knowledge ofblueprints and hand tools is required. Light gauge aluminum fabricationexperience is preferred. Knowledge of Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) ofAluminum is preferred. Position Requirements: Typical lifting/pullingrequirements are between 5lbs and 55lbs. Typical tool weight Ladders25lbs. Suitcase welder 20-35lbs empty. Normal operating at 50lbs whichIncludes (case, spool typ. Cabling & whip) if weight in whole or in partexceed 55lbs overhead cranes, other mechanical means or buddy systemshould be utilized. Weld Whip 10lbs. Grinder 7lbs. Skill Saw 8lbs.
