Plant 2 - Assembly Operator - 3rd Shift

Job Description - To work in a team environment to assemble components, evaluates axles/or transmissions to meet customers' quality standards and delivery schedulesKey Responsibilities:Perform specific procedures on equipment to ensure safety in cell/line/dept./plantAct to meet Cell, Department and Plant goalsParticipate to define 5S/TPM activitiesPerform 5S/TPM Audits -if applicablePerform changeover and set up reductions-if applicablePerform error proofing, generate ideas and aid development-if applicableIdentify methods to enhance and share team knowledgeParticipate in team meetingsPromote a teamwork environmentSupport team (active and constructive role)Understand dept. responsibilities and rolesWorks from standardized work instructions and control plansMay rotate stations and linesUnderstand and support Lock out/Tag out principlesPerform daily safety audits-if applicableReport safety issuesWear personal protective equipmentUnderstand and utilize all Cell/Station Quality documentationCalibrate and Master gages and understand gaging qualification requirementVerify and document error proofing per scheduleReport Quality issues promptly and assist in clean point creationKeep station and fixtures/tools clean and organized at all timeResponsible for communicating when there is an issue affecting the Environment, Health, Safety or Quality to his / her respective ManagerQualification:High School Diploma or GED - RequiredManufacturing or assembly experience (preferably 3 months or more)Essential Functions:Good motor skills, hand dexterity, ability to stand for long periods, walk, stoop, kneel and move/push up to 25 lbs, and/or or heavier with the assistance of a lifting device, good or corrected vision and hearingAbout GKN Automotive:We have been inventing the future for 250 years.
