Job SummaryOur client is currently seeking a Mechanical Equipment Assembly Technician to dismantle, rebuild, adjust, clean, inspect, repair, paint, assemble including electrical hookup, adapt equipment for demonstration and or development tests, operate all equipment for a variety of tests, and maintain primary and auxiliary equipment and facilities.Job ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret applicable blueprints and disassemble machinery using hand tools and required power toolsFit and lay out mating parts of assemblies including locating, scribing, and spot punching parts for additional machiningReplace defective or worn parts and reassemble machineryAdjust clearance and timing of control devices to specifications within individual capabilityAssemble, operate, disassemble, clean, and reassemble all primary and auxiliary machinery as required or per written or verbal instructionsSet up and prepare all primary and auxiliary equipment and establish rates as instructedOperate all primary and auxiliary test machinery and record required data within prescribed criteria or as directedConduct routine evaluation of sample materials as requiredModify components for tests to support successful demonstrationsMinimum QualificationsKnowledge equivalent to completion of an accredited apprenticeship or 3 years of technical training beyond high school3 to 5 years of experience performing required duties and techniques to meet performance standardsKnowledge and Skills PreferredAbility to operate general shop machinery to support customer requirementsKnowledge of hand tools, small power tools, and precision measuring instrumentsAbility to read and interpret a wide range of blueprints and schematics including hydraulic blueprintsBasic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and pipe fittingExperience with industrial and commercial equipment paintingAdditional RequirementsCurrent and valid drivers licenseAbility to pass a background and credit checkAbility to pass a post offer health screening and drug test
