Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflightUnder close supervision, Technician interns support Kent Machine Shop operations while developing foundational knowledge of manufacturing and machining processes. Participates in structured training across tool crib operations and manual machining. Completes assigned projects that demonstrate understanding of machining fundamentals, quality standards, and manufacturing best practices. Does not independently operate machines but learns set-up procedures, tooling selection, blueprint interpretation, and basic machining principles through hands-on training and observation.Technician Intern Responsibilities:Complete structured on-the-job training (OJT) in tool crib operations and manual machining under mentor guidance.Support daily shop operations including tool management, inventory tasks, and 5S plete a 5S or continuous improvement project that benefits shop operationsLearn to interpret basic engineering drawings and understand fundamental GD&T conceptsDevelop understanding of machining processes, tooling applications, and quality inspection methodsDocument learning through detailed run histories and process observationsDeliver presentation summarizing internship projects and key lessons learned.Follow all safety, quality, and company policies while demonstrating Blue Origin's Leadership PrinciplesDuring your internship experience, you can expect to:Gain hands on, real-world experience.Receive mentorship and gain feedback from mentors and managers.Participate in events to learn about other parts of our organization.Required Qualifications:Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Currently pursuing relevant technical degree/certification in machining, manufacturing, or related fieldAvailable to work full time while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.Good understanding of basic electronic theory - voltage, resistance, currentBasicfamiliarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word,etc)Ability to follow written assembly proceduresAbility to learn new skills quicklyStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsStrong analytical andorganizationalskills.Attention to detail and desire forcontinuousimprovementAbility to thrive as a member of a team.Hourly compensation for applicant is: $22.00Culture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
