Registered Behavior Technician ApplyRefer a FriendBack Job Details Requisition #: 213276 Location: Coatesville, PA 19320 Category: Behavioral Therapist Salary: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour Position Details Position Overview The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct behavioral support services to students within a school setting under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). The RBT works collaboratively with educators, related service providers, and school staff to support students with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental, emotional, or behavioral needs in accessing their educational environment. In alignment with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs), the RBT implements evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies to promote academic engagement, social skills, communication, and positive behavior. The RBT collects and documents behavioral and academic data, supports inclusion in classroom routines, and helps reduce behaviors that interfere with learning while maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment. Essential Job Functions Work under the supervision of a certified or licensed staff member who is responsible for instructional programming and student progress. Implement behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition programs as designed by the supervising teacher and/or supervising BCBA. Provide direct behavioral and instructional support to students (1:1 or small group) within general education, special education, or alternative classroom settings. Collect and record accurate behavioral and academic data during classroom activities, transitions, and school routines to monitor student progress. Support student access to instruction by promoting onu2011task behavior, participation, and engagement in academic and nonu2011academic school activities. Apply evidenceu2011based ABA strategies (e.g., reinforcement, prompting, modeling, redirection) to reduce behaviors that interfere with learning and social participation. Assist students during transitions and daily routines, including arrival/dismissal, hallway movement, lunch, recess, and specials, while promoting independence and safety. Assist students with activities of daily living (ADLs) as outlined in IEPs or support plans, including toileting, handwashing, feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene, while promoting independence and dignity. Support skill development related to independence and selfu2011care, using prompting and fading strategies to increase student autonomy in ADLs and functional routines. Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to ensure consistency of behavioral supports across the school day. Maintain compliance with school policies and ethical standards, including student confidentiality (FERPA), professional boundaries, and district procedures. Prepare instructional materials and structured learning environments as directed to support behavior plans and classroom expectations. Communicate observations and progress to the supervising clinician and participate in ongoing supervision, training, and schoolu2011based team meetings as required. Ensure that all interactions with colleagues and students comply with regulatory, professional, ethical and organizational policies and procedures. Maintain current paperwork as required by the position and the assigned case, such as treatment logs, payroll forms and program books and/or electronic files. Requirements Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) (preferred), or immediate RBT-eligibility (i.e., you have taken and passed the RBT exam offered by the BACB and are eligible to become an RBT once linked to and supported by a BCBA or BCaBA). High school diploma or equivalent (required) Associate or bacheloru2019s degree in psychology, education, behavior analysis, special education, or a related field (preferred, may be required by district) Experience working with children or adolescents in a school, clinical, or community setting (preferred) Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges (preferred) Experience implementing behavior plans, collecting data, or working as a paraprofessional, instructional aide, or behavioral technician (preferred) Ability to maintain RBT certification, including ongoing supervision and renewal requirements. Completion of districtu2011required background checks, clearances, and fingerprinting Safety Care training/certification will be required prior to working with students.
