Job Title: Facility Maintenance Custodian Job Description Under general supervision, the Facility Maintenance Custodian will clean and maintain designated areas in office buildings and related work and storage areas. Successful completion of the duties of this position contributes to the attractiveness, safety, and functionality of the facility. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens capable of obtaining and maintaining a secret clearance. Responsibilities + Work under the direction of a Facility Maintenance Custodial Lead to keep commercial and institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition. + Maintain an adequate inventory of hygiene and cleaning supplies to meet routine requirements. + Operate floor cleaning and other cleaning equipment to perform tasks such as trash removal, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, washing, waxing, and buffing offices, hallways, storage/warehouse areas, restrooms, windows, kitchen areas, and associated spaces. + Sweep, mop, clean, and scrub walls, passenger elevators, glass fixtures, and stairs. + Dust woodwork and furniture. + Maintain and re-supply restrooms and perform routine restroom checks. + Remove and empty trash and garbage containers and deliver collected refuse to the loading dock. + Shampoo carpets, strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. + Clean and sweep shop areas. + Clear snow and debris from building entrances. + Comprehend written and oral instructions. + Monitor building for maintenance, safety, and security issues and report any violations to immediate supervisor or management. + Adhere to safety practices and procedures. + Perform other job-related duties as required. Essential Skills + Cleaning and housekeeping skills + Experience in janitorial and environmental services + Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming tools + Understanding of safety practices and procedures Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions + Capability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance Why Work Here?
