WI-Ripon Medical Center Worker Type: Intern/Temporary (Trainee) Job Summary: Supports radiologic health professionals by preparing the room for procedures, providing patient support, assistant with procedures, and maintaining supply inventory. Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES + Transports patients to procedure rooms. + Assists with patient pre-screening. + Prepares and positions patients under the guidance of the technologist. + Provides patient education related to the examination under the guidance of the technologist. + Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. + Assists in the setup of diagnostic area to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing room, and any other areas in the department. + Cleans and restocks room after procedures and maintains inventory. + Respects patient confidentiality and maintains Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance. + Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. + Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION + Must be at least 16 years of age prior to start date and current high school student + Acceptance into Youth Apprenticeship program through local high school EXPERIENCE + No experience required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Constant standing and walking. + Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more). + Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. + Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. + Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. + Frequent lifting/moving of patients. + Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry. + Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. + Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors. + Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. + Rare kneeling and sitting.
