Job Description As a Mechanical Engineer, you will provide essential engineering support for capital projects related to oil and natural gas facilities. You will develop and maintain structural, systems, and controls engineering specifications, procedures, and directives. Your role will include designing materials, structures, and systems while considering practicality, regulation, safety, and cost. You will also participate in pre-production meetings and materials testing programs, and collaborate with junior engineers on routine projects. Responsibilities + Provide general engineering support for capital projects related to oil and natural gas facilities. + Develop and maintain structural, systems, and controls engineering specifications, procedures, and directives. + Design materials, structures, and systems considering practicality, regulation, safety, and cost. + Participate in pre-production meetings for pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, and pressure vessels. + Participate in materials testing programs and research and development. + Collaborate with junior engineers on routine projects. + Provide technical guidance to technicians and support to other professionals. Essential Skills + Mechanical engineering expertise, particularly in piping and pipeline. + ABET accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering, or Mechanical/Civil Engineering Technology. + Interest or experience in supporting Oil & Gas capital projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous experience or knowledge of Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) is a plus. Work Environment The position is primarily onsite, but there is potential for a flexible schedule with hybrid work opportunities as you become acclimated to the role. You will be contributing to a team that serves a large customer base across northern Indiana, as part of the largest natural gas distribution company and the second largest electric distribution company in the state. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
