Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description Prepare and stage materials for production and compounding, perform machine setup to specifications, and manage HMI settings. Interpret batch schedules to correctly label production packaging, start machines, and set controls according to process sheets. Perform tooling changes, utilize tooling, and properly reassemble using basic hand tools. Load products and materials into machines, monitor product flow and temperature, and modify settings to ensure quality products. Operate forklifts and electric hand trucks to move materials and finished products. Examine and sample extruded products for defects, providing samples to labs for testing. Conduct material handling operations, such as packaging, shipping, and receiving. Clean machines by running cleaning cycles, removing excess materials, and replacing filters when necessary. Operate packaging equipment and assist where needed. Collect data on production areas. Perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and lifting. Essential Skills + 3 - 5 years of experience in machine operations (preferably in extrusion, injection, blow mold, packaging, or compounding). + Strong attention to detail to monitor quality materials and products. + HMI knowledge of production machinery. + Forklift operation (stand up and sit down). + Ability to wear required safety equipment. + Ability to climb ladders and stairs. + Good eye-to-hand coordination. + Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. + Safe operation of forklifts and hand trucks. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in extrusion, injection, or blow molding. + Experience in packaging or compounding. + Ability to work in a non-temperature controlled environment. Work Environment Work in a dynamic environment manufacturing medical-grade rubber and plastic hoses. The plant's staging and compounding areas are non-temperature controlled, with temperatures that can be very hot in the summer and cooler in the winter. Shifts include 2nd shift (2:45 pm to 11:00 pm) and 3rd shift (10:45 pm to 7:00 am), with potential overtime on weekends. Initially, training will occur on the day shift for 2-4 weeks. Dress code requires removal of all jewelry, tying up long hair, wearing steel-toed shoes, long pants, and short sleeves (no cut-offs or tanks), and using hearing and eye protection. Some areas require N95 masks during specific tasks. Teams are small and individualized, with raised workstations and frequent step usage. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brownsville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
