Job Title: Welder Job Description The welder will utilize TIG and stick welding techniques for pipe fabrication in process piping. This role primarily involves welding stainless steel and carbon materials, focusing on Schedule 10, Schedule 40, and Sani-Tube. Welders will interpret schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to determine pipe layouts and devise welding plans. They will assemble and install various metal pipes and fittings, perform gouging to ensure clean welds, and collaborate with pipe fitters to address potential issues. Responsibilities + Utilize TIG and stick welding for pipe fabrication. + Weld stainless steel and carbon materials, focusing on Schedule 10, Schedule 40, and Sani-Tube. + Interpret schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to determine pipe layouts and devise welding plans. + Assemble and install a variety of metal pipes and pipe fittings, including stainless steel. + Perform own gouging to ensure clean welds without rework. + Clean, prepare, and install pipes with various fittings and weld joints according to standardized protocols. + Work with pipe fitters to identify and address potential welding issues. + Adjust flames, gauges, and flames for appropriate handling of compressed gas or water pressure. + Perform thread piping and assist millwrights as needed. Essential Skills + 3 years of experience in TIG welding. + 3 years of experience in stick welding. + 3 years of experience in pipe fabrication. + Knowledge of overhead welding and 1g techniques. + Understanding of 6g welding (experience is a plus). Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Mig welding and fabrication. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Why Work Here? Work Environment Specializing in process piping for the chemical and food & beverage industries, the company promotes teamwork at project sites. Work hours are typically 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, with overtime as needed. Employees must wear long sleeves and will receive company shirts after a few weeks. Personal protective equipment such as hoods and steel-toed boots are required, and employees may bring their own tools. Travel to job sites is required, with some overnight stays. Compensation for travel includes gas and per diem, with hotel accommodations provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Memphis, AR.
