We strive for patient-centered care and comfort, and we are committed to serving the community and treating our patients as family.Surgical Technologists, sometimes called “scrub techs”,assistin surgical procedures under the supervision of surgeons and registered nurses and ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure andmaintaininga sterile field. Surgical Technologists perform a variety of functions, such as checking supplies and equipment, setting up sterile tables, performingappropriate counts, draping the sterile field, passing instruments to the surgeon and assistant during the procedure, prepare sterile dressing and clean instruments for terminal sterilization.Acaregiver in this position worksPRN (as needed) varyingshifts. You must work 48 hours within a six-week period.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Assistsurgeons in the scrubcapacity.Scrub,gownand glove caregivers.Set up tables with instruments and supplies.Anticipate the needs of the surgeon, including instruments, sutures,spongesand supplies.Assistin preparing and draping patients and operative areas.Understand andmaintainaseptictechnique.Count instruments, sponges and needles with a circulating RN and report correctness and discrepancies.Assistin applying dressings andcasts.Assemble all instruments and equipment for decontamination.Assistwithmaintainingequipment, routine terminal cleaning, housekeeping duties, roominventoryand stocking supplies.Assistthe surgical team as a circulator under the direction of an RN.Assistin transporting patients and preoperative preparation.Assumecall responsibility.Transitional team duties: remove trash from OR, wash out trash cans, wash tables and furniture, move tables and furniture, wipe all flat surfaces, spot clean walls, cleanfloors,clean and stock anesthesia equipmentand clean, disinfect, sterilize, test, replace and keeps adequate inventory ofreusable anesthesia equipment, cardiac monitors and cables, blood pressure equipment, stethoscopes and bloodinfusers.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program accredited through CCAAHEP or ABHES OR completion of a military surgical technology program OR state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Certification as a Surgical Technologist TS-C (Tech in Surgery - Certified - National Center for Competency Training) or CST (Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red CrossPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Surgical Technologist certification from candidates who have completed an accreditedSurgicalTechnology programPhysical Requirements:Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as requiredPay RangeMinimum hourly: $28.75Maximum hourly: $28.75The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
