Locations: Cincinnati, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Louisville, KY Additional Locations: Statewide Indiana, Ohio & Kentucky Work Site: On Site Req ID: 220843 Position Overview The UAM Field Technician 1 is responsible for planning, designing, verifying locations, inspecting, or otherwise capturing information related to utility infrastructure. This is an entry-level position, and individuals are expected to progressively learn and apply technical information and new skills under general supervision. Work assignments involve applying routine procedures to solve common challenges. This role provides our utility clients with the services and solutions needed to manage their assets efficiently and effectively by performing the duties described. This position is an individual contributor role working in a field environment. _This role will be traveling thoughout Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Travel and lodging arrangments covered._ Compensation Data + Pay: $18/hr PAID WEEKLY + $175 weekly per diem + 40-50 hour work week + Paid travel & lodging Job Duties u25cf Operate as a lone worker when required, demonstrating independence and self-sufficiency. u25cf Operate as one of a pair of technicians when required, demonstrating ability to collaborate work scheduling, hours, and work locations. u25cf Fulfill weekly production targets to meet client expectations and timelines. u25cf Perform field audits of existing utility infrastructure by visually identifying, inspecting, and recording information. u25cf Operate hand-held computers, GPS units, cameras and/or other field technology. u25cf Accurately record field observations. u25cf Positively and effectively communicate with property owners and agencies to arrange for necessary access and work. u25cf Drive, operate, and maintain a company vehicle in a variety of terrains and surfaces (including ATVs). u25cf Read and follow maps; navigate (in vehicle and on foot) through a variety of terrains and in all types of weather using a GPS, map, compass, or other methods. u25cf Recognize unacceptable safety risk conditions and hazards related to the work environment, federal standards, and client specifications. u25cf Review and/or correct data integrity errors within the GIS Database. u25cf Comply with all safety regulations and meet safety requirements in order to complete work safely. u25cf Perform light maintenance on utility infrastructure, utilizing hand tools. u25cf Use a fiberglass measuring stick to accurately measure heights on utility poles. u25cf Collaborate with others (Project Managers, Supervisors, Coordinators, Technicians, and Administrators). u25cf Ensure the proper care and maintenance of any vehicle and equipment assigned including regular inspections, maintenance checks, and prompt reporting of any issues to the appropriate supervisor or maintenance personnel. u25cf React safely and appropriately in emergency situations. u25cf Report and respond timely and accurately to the supervisor. u25cf Participate in employee and professional training events as assigned. u25cf Travel (75%-100%) for on-site job duties. u25cf Perform other related duties as assigned. u25cf Follow all company policies, procedures, and work rules. Qualifications u25cf Required: A high-school diploma or equivalent. u25cf Required: Demonstrated proficiency in basic office applications and data entry. Must be willing to learn mapping collection software applications. u25cf Required: Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Effectively and clearly communicate and present information one-on-one and in a group. u25cf Required: Perform basic arithmetic computations. u25cf Required: Apply understanding to carry out detailed instructions. Identify, address, and resolve problems involving multiple variables and varied situations. u25cf Required: Ability to work in all weather conditions. u25cf Required: Valid driveru2019s license along with a clean Motor Vehicle Report. Must attend and pass the Davey Driveru2019s Safety Course. u25cf Preferred: Prior electric utility or communications industry experience u25cf Preferred: Prior experience working outdoors u25cf Preferred: Electric hazard identification, electric equipment identification, or communication equipment identification capability.
