DescriptionThe North America Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) organization is seeking a Multi-Site Environmental Manager to support our Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Operations across the West Super Region. This role supports multiple sites (8+) within a specific Sub Super Region (CA Region). This region will cover San Diego area and assigned to DSD1. The Multi-Site Environmental Manager will develop standards and policies to support regulatory compliance as well as partner with operations leadership & WHS teams for execution of these standards and policies, ensuring compliance with all applicable county/locations, specific Federal, State/Provincial, and local laws and regulations. The Multi-Site Environmental Manager visits assigned sites in their Sub regions 2-3 times monthly. The Multi-Site Environmental Manager travels greater than 50% of the time. The Multi-Site Environmental Manager is based is in the San Diego area. Key job responsibilities u2022 Manage & execute multi-site responsibilities to comply with air emissions, storm water, waste, wastewater and other environmental related laws, regulations and permits. This includes required Federal, State and local reporting. u2022 Manage & execute business conformance with Amazon EAP Management Systems policies. Develop Amazon Geo-Specific Operational Environmental Procedures by integrating with engineering, construction and operations. u2022 Lead regulatory agency interactions, permit evaluation and processing, and new process and technology introduction. u2022 Primary point of contact for environmental regulatory agencies and represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company. u2022 Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements and Amazon standards. u2022 Monitor environmental metrics to review trends to determine where improvements are needed. u2022 Conduct thorough and accurate environmental inspections and audits for continuous improvement. u2022 Prioritize and manage multiple, technically complex assignments, concurrently. u2022 Build and manage collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately. u2022 Compile and submit time critical reports to various governmental agencies. u2022 Complete environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports, and develop appropriate corrective actions. u2022 Ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. A day in the life The Multi-Site Environmental Manager will complete environmental performance analysis, establish and monitor metrics, and guide the operations leadership teams in implementation of Amazon environmental policies and standards within their sub regional sites. The Multi-Site Environmental Manager will work with internal and external partners that include government entities, contractors, consultants, design, construction, operations and other key stakeholders. About the team The Environmental Assurance and Protection team protects Amazon businesses and supports the needs of our customers by proactively mitigating environmental regulatory risks and protecting the environment.Basic Qualifications- Experience with all Microsoft Office applications - 3+ years of compliance, audit, or risk management experience - Bachelor's Degree in the Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field.Preferred Qualifications- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent - Professional Engineer or equivalent Certification - Master's Degree in the Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
