This position will organize and manage large volumes of paperwork and maintain appropriate records and documentation.Job Description:Baptist Health is looking for a Home Care Certified Pharmacy Technician Specialist to join our team at 2100 Nicholasville Rd, Lexington, KYMonday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm.No weekends, holidays or on call.- Prepare sterile intravenous medications following aseptic technique and compounding guidelines.- Accurately measure and mix medications according to prescribed dosages and formulations.- Maintain cleanliness and sterility of the compounding area and equipment.- Understands and complies with USP 797 standards.- Conduct thorough patient assessments to ensure appropriateness for home infusion therapy.- Educate patients and caregivers on medication administration techniques, potential side effects, and proper storage of medications.- Provide ongoing support and counseling to patients to promote medication adherence and optimal therapeutic outcomes.- Collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers to address medication related concerns and ensure continuity of care.- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all interactions and interventions related to patient care.- Verify active coverage with Medical and Pharmacy benefit payors.- Verify services and products are correctly authorized and that required documentation is accurate and on file prior to billing.- Adhere to regulatory requirements, including state pharmacy laws, HIPAA regulations, and accreditation standards.- Perform quality assurance checks on compounded medications to ensure potency, sterility, and accuracy.- Participate in regular audits and inspections to uphold standards of practice and safety protocols.- Monitor inventory levels of medications and supplies and coordinate timely replenishment orders.- Verify and maintain proper storage conditions for medications to ensure stability and potency.- Assist in the receiving, unpacking, and storing of pharmaceutical products according to established procedures.Minimum Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent required.- 1 year of job-related work experience.- Current KY Pharmacy Technician Registration.- PTCB National Pharmacy Technician certification.- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.- Must be willing and available to travel.Work ExperienceEducationIf you would like to be part of a growing family focused on supporting clinical excellence, teamwork and innovation, we urge you to apply nowBaptist Health is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
