SummaryThe Home Health Infusion Certified Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by providing specialized pharmaceutical services in the context of home health infusion therapy. This position will organize and manage large volumes of paperwork and maintain appropriate records and documentation.Job Description:Baptist Health is looking for a Home Care Certified Pharmacy Technician Specialist to join our team at 2100 Nicholasville Rd, Lexington, KYMonday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm.No weekends, holidays or on call.- Prepare sterile intravenous medications following aseptic technique and compounding guidelines.- Accurately measure and mix medications according to prescribed dosages and formulations.- Maintain cleanliness and sterility of the compounding area and equipment.- Understands and complies with USP 797 standards.- Conduct thorough patient assessments to ensure appropriateness for home infusion therapy.- Educate patients and caregivers on medication administration techniques, potential side effects, and proper storage of medications.- Provide ongoing support and counseling to patients to promote medication adherence and optimal therapeutic outcomes.- Collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers to address medication related concerns and ensure continuity of care.- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all interactions and interventions related to patient care.- Verify active coverage with Medical and Pharmacy benefit payors.- Verify services and products are correctly authorized and that required documentation is accurate and on file prior to billing.- Adhere to regulatory requirements, including state pharmacy laws, HIPAA regulations, and accreditation standards.- Perform quality assurance checks on compounded medications to ensure potency, sterility, and accuracy.- Participate in regular audits and inspections to uphold standards of practice and safety protocols.- Monitor inventory levels of medications and supplies and coordinate timely replenishment orders.- Verify and maintain proper storage conditions for medications to ensure stability and potency.- Assist in the receiving, unpacking, and storing of pharmaceutical products according to established procedures.Minimum Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent required.- 1 year of job-related work experience.- Current KY Pharmacy Technician Registration.- PTCB National Pharmacy Technician certification.- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.- Must be willing and available to travel.Work ExperienceEducationIf you would like to be part of a growing family focused on supporting clinical excellence, teamwork and innovation, we urge you to apply nowBaptist Health is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
