Truss Designer

Job Title: Truss Designer (MiTek) Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Level: Senior (5+ Years) Compensation: $70,000 - $95,000 annually, based on experienceJob Summary We are seeking an experienced Truss Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on truss design experience using MiTek software and a strong background designing roof and floor trusses for commercial and multi-family construction projects. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, and production teams to deliver accurate, code-compliant designs on schedule.Key Responsibilities Design roof and floor truss systems using MiTek software in accordance with project specifications, building codes, and engineering standards Prepare detailed truss layout drawings, design calculations, and material takeoffs Design trusses for commercial and multi-family structures, including complex load conditions and architectural requirements Review architectural and structural plans to identify design challenges and coordinate solutions Collaborate with engineers, project managers, sales teams, and manufacturing staff to ensure accurate and buildable designs Revise truss designs based on feedback, field conditions, or changes to project scope Ensure designs meet local, state, and national building codes and industry standards Support troubleshooting and problem-solving during fabrication and installation as needed Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of truss design experience Proficiency with MiTek truss design software Demonstrated experience designing trusses for commercial and multi-family buildings Strong understanding of structural concepts, load paths, and applicable building codes Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications Experience working directly with engineers and code officials Familiarity with truss manufacturing and installation processes What We Offer Competitive salary range of $70,000 - $95,000, based on experience Comprehensive benefits package including [health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.] Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Collaborative and supportive work environment All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
