Raytheon has an opportunity for an energetic and motivated Mechanical Engineer within the Advanced RF Mechanical Design section, allowing for broad exposure to Raytheonu2019s technology, tools, and resources. The Airborne Sensor RF Design department within the Hardware Engineering organization is seeking support with radio-frequency mechanical packaging development and production support for multiple airborne and space vehicles. In this role, the engineer will be required to frequently collaborate with engineers of various disciplines to ensure support of program and factory requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong academic credentials and experience in working in a teamwork environment, having not only academic, but also interpersonal skills to help optimize our teams. Additionally, the candidate should possess an inquisitive nature and a strong desire to learn real-world applications to complement their academic experience. What You Will Do: + Perform mechanical design and documentation ofantennas, RF Sensors, and supporting Electronics and Sub-systems. + Support existing production program(s) inmaintaininghigh qualityand on time delivery to our war fighters. This could involve engaging with suppliersforquality issues and obsolescence, design and development of test equipment, root cause investigation, etc. + Follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program and functional leadership to ensure that overall designobjectivesare met. + Responsible for developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems. + Responsible for supervising the definitions of mechanical outline and construction details, connectorselectionand specification, mechanical and assembly drawings, and overseeing electrical layout and the technical data package. + Work with minimal direction or supervision, while exercising considerable latitude indeterminingthe technicalobjectivesof assignments + Frequent interaction with the IPTL, PM, anda multi-functional team. + Travel periodically to suppliers andother sites to support programs Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires aBacheloru2019s inScience, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)degreeanda minimumof2 yearsu2019 prior relevant experience,to include any combination of the following: + Experiencewiththe design and manufacturing of electronics packagingand/or test equipmentfor military and/ oraerospace applications + Experience withGD&T, ANSI drawing standards and first order analysis techniques + Experience with PTC CreoMCAD softwareanddrawing standards + Experience withcontinuous (multi-year) program support Qualifications We Prefer: + An existing Secret orTop Secretsecurity clearance + Three or more years of industry experience in the design and test of electronics packaging for military and aerospace applications + Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design and layout collaborationexperience What We Offer Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
