Job Title: Piping Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Piping Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing process piping systems, ensuring adherence to codes and standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate piping designs. Responsibilities + Perform piping designs for process piping according to relevant codes and standards. + Utilize 3D piping modeling software such as PDS, PDMS, and SmartPLANT 3D (SP3D). + Conduct pipe routing on high temperature systems, considering space constraints, stress analysis requirements, accessibility, and maintenance. + Interpret and mark-up Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID). + Generate and maintain piping layouts, isometrics, and general arrangement drawings. + Collaborate with process, mechanical, and structural teams to integrate piping designs. + Support model reviews, clash detection, and resolution using SmartPLANT Review and Freeview. + Select appropriate piping materials, valves, and fittings as per project specifications. + Prepare and review piping drawings, isometrics, and bill of materials (BOM). + Ensure designs adhere to safety regulations, client standards, and industry best practices. + Work with project teams to implement constructability and maintainability improvements. + Deliver engineering outputs within project schedules to meet deadlines. + Develop processes and procedures to optimize resources and enhance design quality. + Strive for continuous improvement in piping system designs to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. + Protect confidential information and maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity. + Effectively manage multiple tasks and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Essential Skills + 3 to 5 years of experience in piping design. + Proficiency in PDS, PDMS, SmartPLANT 3D (SP3D), Autopipe, or AutoCAD. + Ability to interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID). + Experience in generating and maintaining piping layouts and isometrics. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate Degree or Diploma in Piping Design or Mechanical Engineering. + Experience in piping, plant layout, or industrial projects is desirable but not required. + Familiarity with B31.3, ANSI, API, and ASTM standards for piping systems. + Field experience is an advantage. + Willingness to learn new software, tools, and industry trends. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Mary, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $62.00/hr.
