Radiation Therapist - Cancer Center (PRN Days)

Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift Description: Job Title: Radiation Therapist Employment Type: PRN Shift: Day Shift Location: St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA Position Purpose The Radiation Therapist provides radiation therapy services by applying ionizing radiation to adult and geriatric patients according to approved prescriptions. As a Radiation/Cancer Center Nurse you will: + Apply ionizing radiation to patients according to physician prescription, noting any changes to prescription during course of Rx. + Review and maintain daily treatment records for accuracy and completeness. + Assesses patient condition from medical documentation and observe patients for unusual reaction resulting from treatment. + Explain treatment procedures to patients in a sensitive manner. + Participate in simulation and mold room procedures. + Solve problems that arise with routine set-ups. + Schedule patient appointments. + Understand dosimetry procedures and perform basic treatment time calculations. + Participate in radiation oncology quality assessment and improvement activities. + Prepare room and equipment for patients according to prescriptions regarding immobilization devices and treatment parameters.
