Job Title: Mechanical Engineer III - I&C Chassis Design Job Description The I&C cabinet and chassis designer plays a vital role within the I&C Technology team, responsible for designing and implementing supporting structures to mount I&C electronic hardware for safety-related systems at Nuclear Power Plants. This position requires technical problem-solving, strong design skills, a thorough understanding of codes and standards, and effective communication and collaboration with other teams. Responsibilities + Design and develop mechanical systems and components, including control system chassis and cabinets for Nuclear Power Plants. + Perform analysis and testing to ensure mechanical systems meet performance standards and safety regulations. + Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, reports, and manuals. + Provide maintenance support and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure continuous and efficient operation of systems. + Ensure all mechanical designs and installations comply with relevant industry standards and regulations. + Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and civil engineers and other stakeholders. + Utilize engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and MATLAB for design and analysis tasks. + Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders. + Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex mechanical engineering challenges. + Maintain high ethical standards and integrity in professional conduct. Essential Skills + Proficiency in mechanical design engineering, cabinet design, chassis, and PCB design. + Strong knowledge of mechanical analysis, troubleshooting, and maintenance. + Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor. + Strong organizational and project management skills. + Strong, broad knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. + Proven experience in mechanical design and project execution. + Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical systems. + Experience in mechatronics or mechanical engineering. + Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Work Environment The position offers flexible start and end times, with core working hours from 9am to 4pm EST. There is limited travel to the facility in Wilmington, NC. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
