MIDUS is a national longitudinal research study thatinvestigates the human aging process by measuring protein biomarkersexpressed by the body, administering physical and psychological tests,and determining socioeconomic factors of all participants. This researchposition is within the Biological Core, which coordinates the shipmentof human samples across multiple sites and runs immunoassays in-house totest hormone, immune and hematological measures that impact overallhealth.Key Job Responsibilities: Operates, cleans, and maintainsorganization of research equipment and research area. Tracks inventorylevels and places replenishment orders Conducts research experimentsaccording to established research protocols with moderate impact to theproject(s). Collects data and monitors test results Performs literaturereviews and writes reports Provides operational guidance on day-to-dayactivities of unit or program staff and/or student workers Participatesin the development, interpretation, and implementation of researchmethodology and materials Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data and/ordocuments results for presentations and/or reporting to internal andexternal audiencesDepartment: Office of the Vice Chancellor forResearch, Institute on AgingCompensation: The starting salary for theposition is $50,000, but is negotiable based on experience andqualifications.
