Desirable candidatesshould demonstrate an ability to (a) secure extramural funding tosupport distinguished research in an area of biomechanics, (b) publishresearch in high-quality refereed journals, (c) provide exemplarygraduate student training and undergraduate instruction, (d) teachcourses within our Kinesiology majors, with an emphasis on undergraduateand graduate biomechanics courses. The Department of Kinesiology is amultidisciplinary department that includes undergraduate programs inKinesiology, Physical Education, and Health Promotion and Health Equityas well as nationally ranked graduate programs in Exercise and MovementScience, Athletic Training, and Occupational Therapy. Graduates of ourprograms have gone on to careers as some of the most prominentresearchers and scholars in the field, and leaders within theirrespective professions. The Department of Kinesiology resides in theUW-Madison School of Education, which is regularly ranked as one of thetop Schools of Education in the nation. The School is proud of theoutstanding breadth of its programs, with departments in Education,Health, and the Arts. The School views this broad range of programs as atremendous strength.
