FTE: 0.900000 Shift: Shift 3 3 12-Hour shifts: 1900-0730, every3rd weekend rotation Job Summary: The Registered Nurse is a practitionerwho is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluatingnursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatientenvironment. This individual demonstrates competency in delivery of careto a primarily adult population. The Staff RN-Inpatient job descriptionhas incorporated essential functions which are adapted from the ANANursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010). EXPERIENCEDESCRIPTION: Clinical competence and experience in the care andmanagement of target patient populations specific to area of employment.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Professional knowledge of nursing theory andpractice at a level normally acquired through completion of education atan accredited School of Nursing in order to be eligible for licensure asa Registered Nurse is required. Upon hire any non-BSN nurse with lessthan one year of licensed registered nurse experience will be requiredto enroll in a BSN (or higher nursing degree) program. Acceptance into aprogram is expected within 15 months of hire and the degree program mustbe completed within 5 years of enrollment, or 6 years if program is MSN,DNP or PhD in Nursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Requires current state of Wisconsin RegisteredNurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participatingstate in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association(AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHAapproved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
