About the Role The Sales Automation Engineering team builds the platforms and services that power Uber's global Sales organization. Our mission is to automate manual workflows, eliminate friction in the lead-to-cash process, and accelerate seller productivity through reliable, scalable engineering. As a Staff Software Engineer - Salesforce , you will be a senior technical leader responsible for architecting and scaling Uber's Salesforce ecosystem. You will design high-impact CRM solutions, extend Salesforce through custom development, and integrate it deeply with Uber's broader Go-To-Market (GTM) systems. Your work will directly influence how leads are routed, opportunities are managed, revenue is tracked, and sellers operate globally. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep Salesforce platform expertise with strong backend engineering fundamentals and thrives in solving complex CRM and automation challenges at scale. ---- What the Candidate Will Do ---- Salesforce Architecture & Development 1. Architect and implement scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and platform automation tools. 2. Design and optimize core CRM workflows across lead management, account hierarchies, opportunity lifecycle, forecasting, and CPQ processes. 3. Develop robust trigger frameworks, asynchronous processing patterns, and scalable automation to support high-volume sales operations. 4. Lead Salesforce org design initiatives, including data modeling, governance, and large-scale org consolidation or migration efforts. 5. Establish best practices for code quality, security, CI/CD, and deployment across Salesforce environments. 6. Integration & Platform Engineering 1. Design and build integrations between Salesforce and GTM systems such as LeanData, Clari, Gong, Outreach, and internal data platforms. 2. Develop APIs and event-driven architectures to enable real-time routing, deduplication, segmentation, and pipeline health monitoring. 3. Ensure system reliability, observability, and performance across mission-critical sales workflows. 4. Drive improvements in data contracts, system interoperability, and platform scalability. 5. Cross-Functional Technical Leadership 1. Partner with Sales Ops, Rev Ops, Product, and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions. 2. Influence technical roadmap and architecture decisions for Salesforce and adjacent sales systems. 3. Mentor engineers on Salesforce development patterns, platform limits, and scalable design principles. Lead complex, cross-team technical initiatives that deliver measurable GTM impact. ---- Basic Qualifications ---- 1. 10+ years of software engineering experience, with significant hands-on Salesforce development expertise. 2. Strong experience with Apex, SOQL/SOSL, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and Salesforce security model. 3. Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, governor limits, bulkification, and performance optimization. 4. Experience designing CRM workflows across lead-to-cash processes (lead routing, opportunity management, forecasting, CPQ). 5. Strong backend engineering fundamentals in Java, Go, or Python. Proven experience building secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise systems. ---- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. Experience with Salesforce CPQ and complex pricing/contracting workflows. 2. Familiarity with GTM tooling such as LeanData, Clari, Gong, and Outreach. 3. Knowledge of SalesOps processes including routing logic, SLAs, territory management, and revenue planning. 4. Experience integrating Salesforce with streaming or batch data systems (Kafka, Airflow, Spark). 5. Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer II, Application Architect, System Architect). For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$211,000 per year - USD$234,000 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$211,000 per year - USD$234,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
