Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in managing accounts receivable and ensuring effective communication with clients to resolve outstanding balances. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in credit and collections processes, along with a proactive approach to maintaining financial health for the organization. Responsibilities: u2022 Engage directly with customers to resolve overdue accounts and establish clear payment plans. u2022 Develop and maintain accurate credit history files for clients. u2022 Assess the creditworthiness of accounts using risk management tools and detailed reports. u2022 Oversee collection activities, including managing calls for accounts receivable. u2022 Record and track daily collection efforts to ensure thorough documentation. u2022 Investigate account disputes and resolve billing discrepancies efficiently. u2022 Perform reconciliations for accounts and payments to maintain accuracy. u2022 Respond promptly to credit inquiries from both internal teams and external clients. u2022 Monitor aging reports and identify accounts requiring external collection action. u2022 Notify the Credit Manager of accounts that present financial risks or bad debt exposure. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 1 year of experience in collections, credit, or related field. u2022 Proficiency in handling both commercial and consumer collections processes. u2022 Strong knowledge of credit analysis and collection strategies. u2022 Ability to research and resolve complex account discrepancies effectively. u2022 Excellent communication skills to foster positive client relationships. u2022 Familiarity with payment processing methods, including credit card transactions. u2022 Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. u2022 Experience with aging reports and account reconciliation procedures.
