Job Description

The Data Engineering Manager plays a vital role within the Data Team serving as the liaison between the business and product stakeholders and the back-end data engineering team. The individual in this role is responsible for managing the team, guiding specific projects, as well as ensuring delivery of quality data and solutions. This role has an excellent understanding of the business, its operational processes, and the role data serves in making vital business decisions. The DE Manager provides a high degree of coordination between business users, other IT teams, Data Architects, and Data Engineers to ensure accurate and complete data is made available in a timely manner. _Essential Job Responsibilities Include:_ u2022 Manages a team of data professionals in the execution of our database administration and data engineering (ingestion) functions. u2022 Responsible for team planning, strategy, and deliverables. u2022 The Data Engineering Manager is a people manager. The Manager sets goals, evaluates progress and coaches the members of the Database Administration and Data Engineering teams. u2022 Coordinates with the Data Architect and Data Engineer in understanding data requirements for specific projects. u2022 Manages the team effort to develop and implement QA methodologies, processes, and documentation for validating the data pipeline. u2022 Ensure a focus on accuracy of data between the Enterprise Data Warehouse and source systems. u2022 Responsible for issues occurring with the data pipeline and prioritize focus accordingly u2022 Interface with other IT Teams such as Business Intelligence and Application development to determine the impact of changes and needs in their respective areas. u2022 Leads the team to ensure documentation of terminology and data models are published to other parts of the business. u2022 Ensure the delivery of release notes and status reports. _Required Skills / Experience:_ u2022 7+ years of experience leading and managing a Data Engineer, DBA, or other relevant Data role. u2022 Experience interfacing with internal/external customers. u2022 Experience managing an ETL or data ingestion tools (Rivery, FiveTran, or Informatica) u2022 DWaaS platform (Snowflake preferred, Redshift) experience with user role, storage, and warehouse management. u2022 AWS experience with S3, Aurora, and EC2 technologies. u2022 Experience managing multiple database technologies (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB) u2022 Familiar with adhering to security and compliance regulations (HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO27001) u2022 Knowledge of cloud computing concepts, virtualization, and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platforms u2022 Knowledge of infrastructure automation technologies and how they interact with CI/CD processes overall. u2022 Experience with automation scripting languages and tools (Terraform, Ansible, Python, Powershell, etc.) u2022 Experience in writing and tracking software defects and compiling release documentation. u2022 Experience leading/managing projects. u2022 Exceptional analytic thinker and problem solver. u2022 Ability to adjust to competing or shifting priorities as needed. u2022 Team player with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to report business impact to the lay person and be persuasive in recommending solutions to a technical audience. _Preferred Skills/Experience:_ + Bacheloru2019s Degree in Computer Science or a related field of study preferred. + Experience in healthcare/benefit management systems is a strong plus. _Based on relevant market data and other factors, the anticipated hiring range for this role is $152,200 - $190,000 annually. Final compensation rates will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity considerations. This role is also short-term incentive eligible. Incentive amounts will vary by individual and business goals._ _We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
