With a culture driven by purpose, straightforward communication and clinical domain expertise, Commence cuts straight to better care.RequirementsThe Purchasing Specialist supports procurement operations, ensuring timely and compliant acquisition of goods and services in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and agency-specific requirements. This role leverages Deltek Costpoint to manage procurement lifecycles, including requisitions, purchase orders, vendor management, and reporting. Responsibilities include conducting market research, negotiating terms, maintaining accurate procurement records, and ensuring audit-readiness. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, knowledge of government contracting practices, and proficiency in Costpoint procurement modules.- Process purchase requisitions and them into purchase orders using Deltek Costpoint.- Ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services in compliance with company and federal guidelines.- Enter new vendors into the system and maintain vendors.- Monitor vendor performance and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers.- Enter and verify vendor ACH information.- Maintain accurate procurement records for audits and internal reviews.- Use Deltek Costpoint for procurement tracking, vendor maintenance, purchase order creation, and reporting.- Run standard and ad-hoc reports to support internal and external audits or management inquiries.- Work closely with project managers, finance, and compliance teams to ensure procurement aligns with project needs and budgets.- Review, negotiate, and recommend pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors to ensure best value and compliance with company and contractual requirements.- Support internal stakeholders with procurement planning and forecasting.- Identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes and reduce costs.- Stay current on procurement best practices and changes in federal acquisition regulations.- Other tasks as needed.Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.- Three years of business experience- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.- Top-notch written and verbal communication skills.- Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.- Keen attention to detail and organizational skills.- Proficiency in Costpoint and Microsoft Office SuiteWork Environment/Physical DemandsThe work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
