Direct Support Professional (DSP) WEEKEND

The primary purpose of the Direct Support Professional is to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who need support to lead a safe, self-directed life to participate fully in their communities.To assist individuals with intellectual disabilities (mild to severe) in leading a self-directed life and contribute to the community. To aid in assisting with activities of daily living if needed, and encourage attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you, will provide support at home, work, and other community places.A DSP will assist a person, with developmental disabilities, to have a meaningful, safe and self-directed life, skills are needed which include the following but are not limited to:provide quality care of individuals in their home;ensure supports and services are person-centered; provide breakfast lunch dinner dietary options for individuals daily;promote physical health and emotional well-being;provide responsible and accountable financial management;maintain confidentiality;drive individual to doctor's appointments, school, work, and community based activities;support individual to form new relationships;maintain existing relationships;document daily reports electronically.
