Position Summary As a Delivery Driver and Pharmacy Technician for Omnicare Pharmacy, you will deliver prescription orders and/or products to customers on a predetermined route and schedule. Delivery drivers and pharmacy technicians take important steps to ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for our patients and they demonstrate ethical conduct and always maintain patient confidentiality. Success for incumbents in this role includes being able to manage all assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support the teamu2019s ability to fill patient prescriptions promptly, safely and accurately. u2022 Partner with function supervisor to coordinate workflow for assigned functions that prepare and process medications. u2022 Follow policy and procedures for the proper non-sterile and/or sterile product compounding and assembly of clinical u2022 products. u2022 May prepare medications by measure, mix, count out, label and record amounts and dosages of IV or highly regulated u2022 medications according to prescription orders following Long Term Care Pharmacy policies, regulations and procedures. u2022 May have responsibility for compliance functions. u2022 Assist with workflow coordination u2022 Ensure and maintain a safe and clean work environment u2022 Rotate and work within assigned pharmacy workstations, to safely and accurately fill patient prescriptions all while u2022 providing caring service that exceeds customer expectations. Workstations include: Driving, Packaging, Staging, u2022 Returns, Receiving, Cycle Fill, Machine Packaging u2022 Take important steps to ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for our patients and u2022 they demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. u2022 Maintain and full compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations u2022 Maintain highest professional and ethical standards u2022 Provide timely and accurate delivery of medication, equipment, products and/or supplies into long term care facilities or u2022 patientu2019s homes u2022 Load products/materials for delivery into delivery vehicle in a safe and orderly fashion u2022 Log deliveries and return accompanying documents as appropriate. u2022 Confirm correct medication is in correct shipment packaging for the facility u2022 Maintain vehicles and alert management for maintenance issues u2022 Responsible for vehicle maintenance and alerting management for maintenance issues. u2022 Maintain safe operation of all delivery vehicles u2022 Use of mobile phones and applications to navigate your route using basic internet applications and GPS functions per u2022 designated route sequence u2022 Deploy alternative delivery methods in emergency situations u2022 Following all applicable government regulations including HIPAA to ensure patient confidentiality u2022 Drive for long periods of time u2022 Responsible to receive product deliveries, pull and stage product for distribution, rotate stock, and coordinate activities u2022 with drivers to ensure shipments are accurate and deliveries are timely. u2022 Perform physical inventories. u2022 Sort all baskets from V2 according to facility units, location, and delivery times u2022 Scans all medication pending for delivery u2022 Prepares manifests and ancillary paperwork to correspond to appropriate nursing facility. u2022 Retrieve medication totes from PVII pharmacists that are to be scanned for delivery (STATs included) u2022 Check bins before delivery departure for missed meds u2022 During down times assist pharmacy floor for additional support. u2022 Scans manifests into system for confirmation of delivery Required Qualifications u2022 High School Diploma or GED is required u2022 Certification/licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law. u2022 The ability to concentrate on a task over a period without being distracted u2022 Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with customers and colleagues u2022 Actively listening by giving full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made,asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times u2022 The ability to use math to solve a problem, such as calculating dayu2019s supply of a prescription u2022 Is able to judge when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong; recognizing there is a problem u2022 Choosing the best course of action when faced with a complex situation with several available options u2022 Customer service orientation u2022 Possess geographical knowledge of service area u2022 Flexibility required Nights and Weekends u2022 Current, valid driveru2019s license in the state at the level required for the vehicleu2019s operation u2022 Ability to drive for long periods of time Preferred Qualifications u2022 Prior experience in the long-term care industry u2022 Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting u2022 Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician u2022 PTCB National Certification u2022 Prior driving experience Education Verifiable High School Diploma or GED is required Anticipated Weekly Hours 25 Time Type Part time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $16.00 - $26.21 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
