VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTTRAFFIC MAINTENANCE WORKER IIStarting Salary: $39,879Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Maintenance Worker ll to join our team. Under general supervision, the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of municipal traffic signs, work zone activities, and pavement marking duties. This role requires a working knowledge of the MUTCD and the VA Work Area Protection Manual, which must be obtained if not already held.Key Responsibilities:Install and maintain traffic control devices and municipal traffic signsConduct traffic work zone activities and pavement marking tasksInstall sign posts and fabricate and erect signsProvide appropriate traffic controls for work in public rights of wayPerform manual labor associated with traffic control device installation and maintenanceComplete daily work log records to document work performedAssist with traffic signal and electrical operations as neededWork overtime during special events, weather events, and snow removal operationsQualifications:Basic computer operating skills with the ability to learn traffic sign management programsExperience in a traffic-related field preferredAwareness and experience working in and around vehicular trafficAbility to safely operate motor vehicles, aerial lift equipment, power, and hand toolsAbility to solve basic problems independentlyCertifications and Requirements:Must obtain and maintain Commonwealth Of VA Flagging CertificationMust possess and maintain a valid Virginia Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with appropriate endorsementsIMSA Work Zone Certification or equivalent is desiredCriminal background and driving record checks requiredJoin our team to contribute to the safety and efficiency of our municipal traffic system!
