QuarterLine (QL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a dedicated Admissions and Disposition Clerk to support the Patient Administration Department at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA.Duty Location: Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. No Telework allowed.Duty Hours: Monday - Friday (0700 - 1530). Total work hours shall not exceed 40 hours per week.Receives andscreenstelephone calls; receives walk-in patients; responds to various general and routine medical, personnel and administrative inquiries, and escortspatientsas necessary.Creates preadmission charts and completes the process in the electronic medical record or government systemsin accordance withregulation and local policy and procedure.Provides advance directives, third party liability documentation, and other forms forpatientto complete for inclusion into inpatient medicalrecord.Tracks and reports daily patient movement, bedstatusand ward transfers.Correctsadmission errors.Assistsin coordinating patient transfers from other wards or to outside facilities.Tracks andreportsall casualty reports and notifications in accordance Government policies and procedures.Degree/Education: High School degree / GEDExperience: Possess a minimum of two (2)yearsOffice Automation/Front Desk Clerk, with at least one (1) year in a medical or hospital environment.Knowledge of MedicalTerminology.Knowledge anddemonstratedcompetence in the use of the capabilities, operating characteristics, and advanced functions of office automation software (e.g., word processing, desktop publishing, graphics, database, spreadsheet, or communication).Capable of typing 60 words per minuteand well versed in the operation of a wide range of dictating equipment and software.Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of standard medical facility/office rules, regulations,Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)and other guidelines relating to completingtasks.
