Job Description

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the full-cycle accounting and financial oversight of all transactions related to the organization’s Cyber initiatives.This role leads the design and execution of month-end close processes for newly formed legal entities, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, financial reporting, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.The Senior Staff Accountant applies strong technical accounting knowledge—particularly related to professional services revenue recognition under ASC 606—while delivering timely, accurate financial insights to support business growth and operational decision-making.Senior Staff Accountant Responsibilities:Financial Oversight - Cyber InitiativesManage all financial transactions related to Cyber business operations.Ensure accurate recording of revenue, expenses, accruals, and intercompany activity.Maintain the integrity of the general ledger for assigned entities and programs.Revenue Recognition (ASC 606)Apply ASC 606 guidance to professional services contracts.Review customer agreements to determine appropriate revenue recognition methodology.Prepare and document revenue schedules and supporting calculations.Monitor contract modifications and ensure compliance with accounting standards.Month-End Close & Entity AccountingDesign and implement month-end close processes for newly formed legal entities.Prepare all journal entries, accruals, and adjustments required for a timely close.Perform comprehensive balance sheet account reconciliations.Ensure reconciliations are properly documented and supported.Financial Analysis & ReportingPrepare monthly fluctuation analysis and variance explanations.Identify trends, risks, and discrepancies and provide actionable insights.Support ad-hoc financial reporting requests from leadership.Audit & Tax SupportAssist with annual audit preparation, including gathering documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.Support tax return information gathering in coordination with external accounting firms.Ensure financial records are audit-ready and well-documented.Process Improvement & ControlsEstablish scalable accounting processes for growing Cyber operations.Strengthen internal controls and documentation practices.Recommend and implement efficiencies within the accounting workflow.Senior Staff Accountant Qualifications:EducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance requiredMaster’s degree or CPA preferred but not requiredExperienceMinimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experiencePrior experience working for a public company strongly preferredExperience with professional services revenue recognition under ASC 606 requiredTechnical SkillsStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standardsExperience with Business Central preferredAdvanced analytical and reconciliation skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyCore CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesEffective communication skills with internal and external stakeholdersProcess-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and complianceKnowledge Services strives to offer a modern, professional environment that provides Team Members an inviting, comfortable, and collaborative place to work to maximize success.
