Career opportunities abound at SOUND!SOUND Behavioral Health is growing, and we are hiring an AOT Clinician in Seattle, WA!This person will work with high-risk, high acuity clients and conduct assessments in the field. Additionally, this role will require frequent communication with legal representatives, including judges.Assisted outpatient treatment (AOT)is the practice of providing community-based mental health treatment under civil court commitment, as a means of:(1)motivating an adult with mental illness who struggles with voluntary treatment adherence to engage fully with their treatment plan; and(2)focusing the attention of treatment providers on the need to work diligently to keep the person engaged in effective treatment.Click here to learn more about AOT. Location: Outreach-focused role throughout the Seattle area. Home base is located at the Capitol Hill clinic (1600 E Olive St, Seattle, Washington, 98122). This role requires driving.Schedule:Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.Accepting Applications until March 13th, 2026.GENERAL SUMMARYTheAssistedOutpatient Team(AOT) is a community-based outreach team that works with clients identified as high-utilizers with a pattern ofinvoluntary psychiatric hospitalizations,likely jailinvolvementand a pattern of barriers to successfullymaintainingoutpatient care. AOT team memberswork intensively with a small caseload of clients,largely inthe community.AOT team membersbecome true resource experts, as they work withpeopleusing harm reduction strategies, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused interventions to move toward positive care transitions that reduce repeat hospitalizations.This is a rewarding and self-directedJoband services happen where the participants live and spend their time. ThisJobrequiresa person witha high levelof comfort working with people who are experiencing a wide range of mental and/or behavioral disorders including actively using substancesand isalmost entirelycommunity/outreach based. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIESProvides,direct services and/or internal and external organization referrals forclients.Responsible for providing clinical intakes/assessments for new clientsMaintainsaccurateandtimelyclinical records according to organizationpolicy.Prepares necessary reports,summariesand progress notes, and incorporates into clinical records.Performs consultations andliaisonduties with other agencies and resources on behalf of the client.Provides outreach, engagement, carecoordinationand intervention to clients.Assistsclienttoachieve and sustain stabilityin the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatmentservices.Monitors medication regimes and treatmentcompliance.Monitorsutilizationof services and the success of outcomemeasures.Participates in team member meetings, consultations, casepresentationsand in-servicetraining.Participates in ongoing program development andassessment.Works collaboratively with AOT peer and provider to support clients in achieving and sustaining stability.Performs other duties asassigned.KEY WORK RELATIONSHIPSEstablishes andmaintainspositive, ethical, and professional working relationships with clinical team members, clients, and outside organizations. Relates to a wide variety of people including members of ethnic and sexual minoritypopulations, andis respectful of individual and cultural differences.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMaster's degreein social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field, with a strong emphasis on working with families and community agencies required.Experience:Strong knowledge of mental health disorders with previous experience in crisis intervention, emergency mental health services, and trauma-informed care is strongly preferred.KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLSUnderstands the principles of individual therapy, group therapy and/or case management approach to providing services.Possesses strong working knowledge of the mental and/or behavioral health and supportresources ofKing County, and is familiar with state and local health delivery systems, including knowledge of various funding principles and clinical services mandates.Understands recovery concepts in behavioral health; synthesizes and applies, as appropriate to their work at Sound.Ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, while simultaneously managing crises.Able to demonstrate the capacity to appreciate and work well with the complex and diverse population.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONSMust have an MHP certificate.Valid professional licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.) is preferred or must be working towards licensure with supervision.Must be able to obtain aWAState Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 60 days of hire.Must pass a criminal background check.Washington State driver's license and an insurable driving record required.PHYSICAL DEMANDSTo successfully perform the essential duties of thisJob, an individual must be able to sit at a desk for four or more hours a day, and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards, forfour ormore hours per day. Individuals must be able to engage vendors, team members, clients and others over the phone and in-person by voice. Regular attendance is an essential function of theJob.
