Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Responsibilities VA Careers - Licensed Practical Nurse: Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional LPN Duties include but are not limited to: Delivers care to patients in a respectful non-judgmental manner and according to Patient Care Plan Demonstrates understanding of age - and population - specific characteristics that affect the health care needs of the veteran. Performs aspects of admission /discharge procedures as directed Collects patient data including observations of patient status. Accurately reports patient/client information. Recognizes subtle and significant changes in the patient in response to nursing care. Promptly recognizes urgent or emergent patient care situations, seeks assistance and effectively intervenes as directed when appropriate. Communicates changes in patient condition/response to nursing care. Organizes/ prioritizes routine and non-routine nursing care activities Provides care to patients/clients appropriate to their cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation. Accurately documents and retrieves patient/clinical information using electronic medical record. Provides effective education to patients and/or family members in relation to common disease processes, medications, and/or prescribed diagnostic and/or treatment regimes, as directed. Adheres to standards of practice and safe technique in preparation and administration of medicine, documents administration in BCMA. Observes patient for adverse effects from medication and reports to the team RN Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:30am- 4:00pm Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): May be approved for highly qualified candidates. Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
