Assembly Technician

Job Title: Assembly Technician Job Description We are seeking a meticulous Assembly Technician to join our production team. The successful candidate will assist in building metal frames of large switchboards and perform basic wire harness assembly. Starting at a workbench with a tape measure and blueprint, you will utilize hand tools to build custom switchboards according to customer requests, ensuring quality in a repetitive assembly process. Responsibilities + Assist in building metal frames of large switchboards. + Perform full assembly and basic wire harness assembly on units. + Follow blueprints to measure parts and use hand tools for assembly. + Ensure quality and precision in repetitive assembly tasks. + Assemble wire harnesses using simple schematics and mount them on units. + Maintain safety standards and use required personal protective equipment. Essential Skills + High attention to detail. + Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing environment or solid mechanical aptitude. + Proven ability to read a tape measure and use a power drill. + Ability to lift 50-70 lbs as needed. + Willingness to work at heights using a small step ladder. + Experience in reading blueprints preferred. + Must have own steel or composite toe shoes. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with small parts assembly and wiring while reading a blueprint. + Experience in a mechanic setting or with side jobs demonstrating mechanical aptitude. The work environment is bright, clean, and quiet, with allowances for headphones and casual attire like jeans and sweatshirts. This is a self-motivated role where you will not be constantly supervised after training. Personal protective equipment including steel/composite toes, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection in some areas is required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brookston, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
