Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and processing invoices, ensuring accurate payment matching, and resolving discrepancies efficiently. This is a long-term contract position with the potential for permanent placement, offering a dynamic work environment within the utilities and infrastructure industry. Responsibilities: u2022 Process invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. u2022 Perform two-way and three-way matching for payments to ensure proper documentation and approval. u2022 Investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoices and payment records. u2022 Utilize Oracle software to manage accounts payable tasks and maintain accurate financial data. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to address payment issues and ensure timely resolutions. u2022 Support light accounts receivable (AR) functions as needed. u2022 Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions. u2022 Assist with implementing and adapting to new systems, including App Zen, if required. u2022 Contribute to improving processes and workflows within the accounts payable department. u2022 Adhere to business casual dress code while maintaining professionalism in the workplace. Requirements u2022 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field. u2022 Proficiency in Oracle software for financial operations. u2022 Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting. u2022 Familiarity with two-way and three-way matching processes. u2022 Strong problem-solving skills to resolve discrepancies effectively. u2022 Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. u2022 Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams. u2022 Willingness to work on-site Monday through Friday, with potential for a hybrid schedule upon permanent placement.
