Marine Mechanical Engineer

Contingent on Contract Award Amentum is currently seeking Marine Mechanical Engineers to support a NAVSEA Contract and be a member of the Marine Engineering Group. The Marine Engineering Group is the Navyu2019s technical authority for machinery systems for all surface ships, aircraft carriers and submarine classes u2013 including but not limited to developing and designing, evaluating and assessing, analyzing and establishing standards and risks, and demonstrating and implementing new marine system technologies. The marine systems include electrical systems, motors, controls, energy storage, battery system certification, mechanical and hydraulic systems, power generation, shafting, mounting gear, handling equipment, and fluid systems. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Marine Mechanical Engineer will provide support in the following areas: u2022 Design, analysis, evaluation, process assessments, root cause analysis, establishing and maintaining specifications and standards, and evaluating risk. u2022 Specific systems can include electrical systems, motors, controls, energy storage, battery system certification, mechanical and hydraulic systems, power generation, shafting, mounting gear, handling equipment, and fluid systems. u2022 Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. u2022 Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. u2022 Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems. u2022 Provides technical support for the engineering process. u2022 Additionally, collaborates with other engineering departments and coordinates their disciplines to the development of the project. u2022 Designs, implements, and communicates, an operational plan for completing the project. Monitors progress and performance against the project plan. u2022 Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifies, develops, and gathers resources necessary to complete the project. u2022 Prepares engineering designs and work specifications. u2022 Develops project schedules, budgets, and forecasts. u2022 Selects materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: + 4-7 years of experience + Bacheloru2019s Degree in Mechanical Engineering field or related area. + Must be able to design, analyze, evaluate, process assessments, root cause analysis, establish and maintain specifications and standards, and evaluate risk. + Must be a specialist on complex technical and business matters. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. + Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance. Compensation Details: US: $140,000 - $175,000 The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
