We are seeking a candidate with extensive experience in the Design/Build process, adept at managing multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring seamless collaboration between the design and construction phases. As a leader, you will play a crucial role in strengthening our Design/Build business, understanding client and owner organizations and processes, maintaining consistent relationships at all organizational levels, and ensuring Jacobs remains the consultant-of-choice for our clients.As a Complex Bridge Design Manager in our Design/Build business, you can expect to:u2022 Be responsible for the overall coordination and delivery of design on large, complex alternative delivery projects, including Design-Build projects.u2022 Oversee and manage pre-tender design efforts, including the development of Alternative Technical Concepts (ATCs).u2022 Effectively maintain diverse relationships with the Contractor, Owner Representatives, and various project stakeholders and influencers.u2022 Plan, direct, and coordinate multi-discipline staff in a high-intensity environment, often involving multi-office execution.u2022 Work directly with project controls and scheduling staff to manage the project, analyze Earned Value and Schedule performance, and effectively collaborate with team interfaces to ensure project goals and objectives are met within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.u2022 Ensure the overall quality and coordination of the work performed, manage client interfaces, utilize staff efficiently, uphold the reputation of the Team and Jacobs, oversee contract management, billing collection, and control project profitability.u2022 Establish work plans and multi-disciplinary staffing for each project phase and arrange for the recruitment or assignment of project personnel.u2022 Provide training to Staff-level Engineers.u2022 Direct and coordinate activities of Project Engineers, Engineers, and Technicians to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.u2022 Represent Jacobsu2019 alternative delivery capabilities in assigned locations, markets, and at industry events.u2022 Develop, review, and confirm the financial and project delivery schedule activities of design and construction as they relate to all involved disciplines.u2022 Ensure that the project team complies with the contract agreement and exercises strict cost control to implement the approved design within established budget constraints.u2022 Lead, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate project assignments and manage projects that are larger in scope and complexity.u2022 Collaborate with other subgroups and interact with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, other consultants, and professional organizations.u2022 Attend meetings, make presentations, and respond to questions as required.u2022 Work closely with staff in other departments, even if they are not within the same office or within the same technical discipline.The final candidate can work out of any Jacobs U.S. office including but not limited to: New York, New York, Boston, Massachusetts, Morristown, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Baltimore, Maryland, Washington DC, Reston Virginia, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale or Miami Florida, Dallas, Texas, Atlanta, Georgia, Chicago, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri, Indianapolis, Indiana, Mendota Heights, Minnesota, Las Vegas, Nevada, Seattle, Washington, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Los Angeles or San Francisco, California, Reno Nevada and Tempe, Arizona. u2022 Bacheloru2019s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.u2022 10+ years of expertise in complex, multi-discipline highway/bridge project design management, including experience as a Design Manager on one or more Design-Build projects.u2022 Experience as Design Manager, Project Manager, or position of design leadership for large bridge projects such as steel and concrete long-span bridges (cable-stayed, arch, truss, girder, segmental), movable bridges, and major viaducts.u2022 Experience in alternative delivery of transportation infrastructure projects with construction values exceeding $200M.u2022 Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is required.u2022 Design-Build experience.u2022 Willingness to travel onsite or co-locate depending on Owner requirements.Ideally, youu2019ll also have:u2022 Masteru2019s degree in Structural Engineering and/or an MBAu2022 PMP or equivalentu2022 P.E. in multiple statesu2022 Experience working on projects with construction values over $1Bu2022 Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) certificationJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
