Summary: Independently performs all ultrasound exams per site protocols and assists Radiologists and Surgeons with ultrasound-guided procedures. Responsible for patient safety and functions as the first-line interface with patients to successfully accomplish their imaging needs. Must have working knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and represent the department as a skilled competent professional. Responsibilities: u2022 Operates and maintains ultrasound units; communicates equipment problems and image quality issues. u2022 Performs high-level disinfection of Ultrasound probes when indicated; maintains required documentation. u2022 Prepares and stocks ultrasound rooms and maintains cleanliness of area. u2022 Greets patient, verifies with 2 identifiers; interviews and screens patient before exam; explains procedures to the patient. u2022 Responsible for patient safety. u2022 Educates and instructs other healthcare providers in the use of specialized equipment, new procedures, and new concepts. u2022 Efficiently operates all computer information systems used to coordinate patient care including EPIC and SECTRA. Completes case documentation and billing in a timely fashion. u2022 Completes mandatory continuing educational requirements and attends all mandatory in-services and staff meetings to maintain competency training. u2022 Represents the Department and Hospital as a skilled, competent professional. u2022 Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures Minimum Requirements: H.S.
