David Weekley Homes is seeking a highly motivated Summer 2026 Purchasing Intern to join our team in San Antonio. The ideal candidate will have curiosity and passion for learning more about what drives the homebuilding industry.You will learn:Category Management:The importance of accurately reportinghard costs for variouscategories.How to reviewwarranty issues with Preferred Partners.Scope of Work management with internal and external teams for specificcategories.How to implement redline plan changes and communicate to Preferred Partners.Walknew floor plans and collaborateto improve homevalue and design.Contract Negotiation and Bid Management:Negotiatingcontracts and model discounts for select categories.Maintaining item pricing and report unit pricing.Managingthe bid process from request for proposal to cost submittal.Analyze bid proposals to ensure they are complete and comparable.Negotiate contracts to ensure the best pricing and performance.QualificationsMust be currently enrolled in a full-time college programwith an interest in pursuing Purchasing within the residential construction industryMust have housing available in the greater San Antonio areafor the duration of the internshipAble to work up to 40 hours per weekAdditional Information The deadline for applying is March 15th, 2026David Weekley Homes is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any status protected by state or federal law.
