Key Responsibilities u00b7 Review and approve supplier welding procedures for Applied Materials products and applications u00b7 Helps to establish best-known practices to establish and improve welding processes in the fabrication supply base u00b7 Leads quality problem resolutions and incident management, drive root cause and corrective actions at suppliers u00b7 Supports supplier technical audit process and evaluates supplier performance and capability. Supports supplier selection to develop a supply base that provides a competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery and technology u00b7 Supports new product development/introduction by reviewing process specifications, engineering drawing, and first article inspections to ensure integrity and clarity. Develops supplier capability to meet these requirements u00b7 Provides training and mentoring to internal teams on fabrication processes and the supplier audit/evaluation process u00b7 Travel required both domestic and International, typically 30% to 50% as needed. Functional Knowledge u00b7 Ability to audit welding procedures for code compliance and evaluate their functionality and effectiveness for the application u00b7 Substantial experience in aluminum, stainless, and carbon steel welding with some knowledge in machining and fabrication. Knowledge of AWS codes and standards is required. u00b7 Knowledgeable in fabrication methods used to meet cleanliness requirements for the semiconductor tool industry (Recommended) u00b7 Willingness to develop technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: metal finishing (e. g. plating, anodization, ENP), precision cleaning or chemical analysis methods. Problem Solving u00b7 Solves complex technical problems that have a broad impact on the business. u00b7 Understanding and use of various problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D, six sigma, etc. u00b7 Willingness to learn and be flexible in problem-solving approaches. Leadership u00b7 Align project objectives to requirements of both internal and external customers. u00b7 May lead project teams with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity to achieve milestone and objectives u00b7 Keeps commitments while executing on multiple projects. u00b7 Negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view Communication Skills u00b7 Communicates technical concepts effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences. Experience and Education u00b7 7+ years of experience in welding processes (GTAW, GMAW, EBW, LBW, etc.) and thermal cutting processes required. u00b7 Experience with manual, semi-automated, and automated welding processes and systems. u00b7 Must possess a strong knowledge of metallurgy of steels, testing of materials, and heat treatments. u00b7 Experience with brazing process (VB, FB, TB, etc.) on aluminum and stainless steel preferred u00b7 Certified Welding Inspector (AWS D1. 1 or ASME B31. 3) preferred. u00b7 One or more of the following certifications: u00b7 CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) u00b7 CWS (Certified Welding Supervisor) u00b7 CWE (Certified Welding Educator) u00b7 ASNT ACCP Level I, II, or III u00b7 CWEng (Certified Welding Engineer) u00b7 Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree in welding, mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering or equivalent education and working experience related discipline Additional Information Time Type: Full time Employee Type: Assignee / Regular Travel: Yes, 25% of the Time Relocation Eligible: Yes The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable. For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
